Bahrain Man

Steven's best friend is serving a year in Bahrain (Juffair) where...
  • They have DUST warnings
  • The daily temp is above 100 degrees Fahrenheit (today is 109.4)
  • and a gallon of gas is ONE DOLLAR!!

Apparently Earl took up cycling before he left and didn't want to give it up (that and he doesn't want to buy a car over there) so he is pedaling all over the desert, in the dust and heat. If you know Earl, this won't surprise you one bit. Personally, my lily white sun hating self would have had to tell Uncle Sam that there was surely a more luxurious locale for him to send me for a year.

Hence the reason why people like my husband and Earl, who serve(d) our country in the shitty conditions and away from their families for months on end get all my respect.

Stay safe (and cool) Earl and we'll see you in about 10 months...

Times, they aren't good

My public wants an update but I just don't have it in me. Momma always said if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. For once, I think I'm going to listen.

When I feel like speaking and can do it without whining, crying, bitching, etc. then I will...until then, the Blog will be dormant.

Isaiah Gets Braces

Before we left for the appointment....

After the brackets were put on but before the wires

Home with his maroon mouth (the colors will change every month)

Flashing his grill
His mouth is starting to hurt. He clearly thinks I have no idea what braces feel like since, according to him, the braces have affected his ability to chew with his mouth closed and to drink without slurping. My reply...bullshit! He forgets he is dealing with the mother that not only had braces once, but twice and therefore he can't pull such trickery on me!
