Things to Know About Being Here

Hey y’all! So I used to keep this blog to update my family on the kids and our family life (this was before everyone was on Facebook and mommies kept blogs). I was recently diagnosed with a rare eye disease and decided it was easier for me to keep everyone in the loop here instead of it all being on my Facebook. This way if you don’t care about my eye you’re not seeing it all of the time in your News Feed and folks that want to know can click to come here.  And for the record, it’s totally cool not to care about my eye and I would still do this even if were just for my memory to be correct.

Just a little bit about me .... I am a Momma & wife that lives in East Tennessee.  My husband Steven and I have 2 adult children... a son that is getting married (!!! we are so excited !!!) in January and a daughter that is a few hours away at college.

If you are familiar with Thyroid Eye Disease (even if you aren’t and just want to *help*) please take into consideration the things you don’t know about me before making any suggestions to my care. I have a very complicated medical history and I have a well qualified team that has experience with this and whom we trust. I am in very good hands.

My posts are how I understand the information, the things I see and how I feel. Nothing I say is to be taken as medical advice in any way.

I have a super great support system that makes this much easier. Between work family, friends and my actual family I have a line of people ready to step in.

So, this is my story of my journey with Thyroid Eye Disease. As we do in the South, pour a glass of sweet tea to sip while you read a little about my arch enemy TED. And don’t worry, my mouth can get a little crazy but you won’t be clutching your pearls.
